In May 2017 I was hoping to visit Yosemite on my way south in California but, when almost at Yosemite, I discovered that Highway 120, while open to the park, was closed 8 miles after the Entrance and you couldn’t get to Yosemite Valley so I had to turn around and revise my day. As a result found this little gem … “Whistling Billy” … an 1897 Mercer Mining Company locomotive rescued/preserved in Coulterville, California.
