
The Cornish-Windsor Bridge at Windsor, Vermont. Built in 1866 at a cost of $9,000 this bridge is the longest two-span covered bridge in the world. Originally built as a toll bridge by a private contractor the State of New Hampshire purchased the bridge in 1936 and made it toll free in 1943 … note Windsor (on the left) is in Vermont and Cornish (on the right) is in New Hampshire.
